Why FTHS?"

Since the end of my 5th grade year, I have been researching about universities, colleges, and high schools. When I was in 6th grade, I thought I would be going to Buena. After my older brother got into Foothill, it became very clear to everyone that I was also going to Foothill. At first I hated the idea of going to Foothill, but after I realized that it will look good on my college applications and that I would be able to hang out with my older brother before he leaves for college. So far it has been a great experience here at Foothill.

The decision wasn't very hard to make because I knew my family would make me go no matter what I thought. My dad and my mom wanted me to go because my older brother was attending Foothill at the time. I knew even before I signed up I would get in. As the end of my 8th grade year grew near, my friends and I started talking about high school more often. Most of them were either going to Buena or Ventura. I see them when I walk home and I rarely do, and sometimes in the morning when I’m about to get on the bus to Foothill from Ventura High School after I have Company. And if you don’t know what Company is, it’s the show choir at Ventura.

The beginning of the school year is always the weirdest time of the year. Orientation was weird and fun, mostly because some guy near got tackled to the ground. Now the first day of school was very strange, mostly because of my brother and his friends. They usually ask the weirdest questions and half the time when I see them they are acting like a bunch of monkeys. One reason you won’t see me with a friend of mine with them. My F.I.R.E. leaders I think are kind of cool and wacky. When I begin to talk about the other students in my F.I.R.E. class, I think of the words fun, nice, cool, and weird. Of course I was nervous the first day because I didn't know how Foothill would be like.

Now that I’m here, I’m kind of glad. It’s way better than middle school and I’m pretty sure everyone can agree with me. I am actually having a lot of fun. You’d probably think that having 8 different classes would be annoying, but it makes my life more interesting. So far everyone I've met I find pretty cool. A lot of them have an awesome personality, and most of my teachers are pretty cool too. I think I signed up for 4 different clubs. In conclusion to this essay, I think that the future years that I will spend at Foothill will be great.
